I will not be watching any future movies or tv series with Ibrahim Celikkol in them.you ruined my image of him in season 2 and 3 of Kordugum or the American Netflix Intersection.you turned him into a selfish ugly man.he did not deserve Naz.his first girlfriend Ulil is just as conniving and selfish as he is. And she is not pretty at all!!!! You could have ended Naz's romance with Ali a different way.
She did not have to be murdered!!! The best actor is the boy who plays Kaan. He is fantastic.now he dies not have a mother or his best friend Naz.but has a father who does not care about him.Ali never even called him when he was on the beach all night with Alul.how shameful was that??? You rushed the Season 3 because you had no where to go after killing Naz. The man you describe is Ali Nejat, a character in a TV series, not Ibrahim Celikkol.Every time Murat smirked, I wanted to slap him. He's such an absolute horror of a human being that after being that close to him I'd have to go home and take a shower.
After a few more episodes, I realized if I felt that strongly about Murat, I also had to admire the actor, Teoman Kumbaracibasi. If he could incite such strong emotions, then he's done his job as an actor and it's a superb one. Even knowing this, I still despise Murat.
Bravo!I hope you'll change your mind about Ibrahim Celikkol and continue to see his work. His ability to spark a wide range of emotions from us is a gift. It doesn't matter how many times I've seen Sadece Sen, I still cry. Not every actor can do this. I thought it was weird, too, that there was no kissing between Naz and Ali Nejat. Especially after he proposed and they were engaged.
Kissing the cheek and forehead isn't the behavior of a couple in love and getting married. Well, maybe if they're 12 or 13 years old. Ayhan and Aysan kissed right after she accepted his proposal and it wasn't very long after meeting that we saw Umet and Neslihan kissing. Obviously the writers know about kissing scenes, so I wonder if Belcim Bilgin and/or Ibrahim Celikkol had something written in their contract that opposed them of kissing each other. It's very strange since they kissed in their movie together, Sadece Sen. I agree to both comments. I truthfully can't stand her!!
And it hurt the show big time!! I also agree with an earlier comment that Ali Nejat was completely unfair to Naz. Pursued her, proposes to her, she quits her job, on his whim decides to leave her family and move elsewhere all the while he's having second thoughts thinking of his ex. I am so disgusted with him. How did he ever convince Naz to hook up with him again knowing he was in love with his EX? I imagine Kaan had something to do with it, but if he's willing to tear Kaan's heart just before the wedding he certainly should have had the guts to hurt him way before this and spare Naz. The whole plot would have made more sense if he tried to rekindle his affair with Eylul but found he was actually in love with Naz.
However, it just seems the writers favored Eylul right from the beginning by creating an exact copy of Ali Nejat: wild, likes fast cars, just happens wants to design one and turns out to be a designer of one, sexier compared to down to earth Naz, and has a father willing to do anything for his sister including creating a workshop for her. This was slanted in her direction from the beginning!! I have not gotten over my disappointment.
I re-watch but never past ep 20. Till the roses in the office scene. The writers panicked and changed Alinejat's character and manufactured Eylul so as to write a different plot. I suggest never watch past that Ep 20 spot and start beggin Ibrahim Cellikol to take on some good film roles, not these throwaway tv series that go on forever! Sadece Sen showed these two leads in beautiful, real love. Clever editing so as not to offend with full love-making, but enough to warm the heart and give film-lovers heartfelt moments. Turkey - you can do it.
Get to make films please! I agree with many comments made here about the relationship between Naz and Ali Nejat. I too noticed that dispite him saying he was in love with Naz and pursued her like mad, he never kissed her with the same intensity that he did with Eylul which made the series more of a disappointment for me. Then in season 3 when just before finding Naz he was flirting unmercifully with Eylul. Then when he actually found Naz he was shockingly unemotional.
Did she really mean that little to him? It was so disappointing!! Then I wanted the truth to come out that he had flirted with Eylul while leaving Naz to die helplessly on her own and thought Kaan, when he heard the news to turn against Eylul, which for a moment he did, only to find him embracing her an episode later. So very disappointing!! I like Naz and had hoped better from her and Ali Najet. I too actually thought at one time that maybe it was in their contract to not kiss until I saw the movie in which they played together and I loved it.
The chemistry was definitely there. What I think happened he saw a good mom for Kaan but he was emotionally unengaged. Too bad because as much as they tried to make Eylul a really good person, I didn't like her. I truly wanted Naz to be the one. This was by far a truly sloppy ending to what could have been a great show. I was almost wishing in the end that sparks would fly between the lawyer and Ali Nejat just so Eylul wouldn't win this one.
Cheers from Canada. Love Turkish dramas!! Watch any that are available on Netflix!! Frankly, I don't think there will be an 4th season. I thought that they pretty much completed the story line in just 4 or 5 episodes in season 3 that were available on Netflix. What more did we need to know? Naz is dead, Eylul and Ali Nejat professed their love for one another and she'll move in.
Kaan now loves Eylul. Murat has been neutered by Tarick, and we all know that Tarick killed Naz, and that he's a criminal due to the finding of their mother. All storylines are complete. It holds no fascination for me any longer because the main 2 protagonists are no longer together. I think most people feel that way. Having watched all 4 seasons on Netflix, I'm at a loss.it looked like there was an episode missing from the end of season 2 to the start of season 3!!!
When did Ali & Naz decide to get back together & then get married to move to Azyaka?? When did he suddenly grow a beard? Did Murat and Feyza get married since he was sharing her bed? Where was the scenes where Tarik had a haemorrhage and treatment given in US or Feyza's treatment? Gokce suddenly disappears and is pregnant, no lead up to this or that it's been months (find this out later).so many scenes missing, it's like 6-8months passed but nothing to show for it!!! Very annoying! Can't believe they killed Naz in the first episode back after season 2!!! I was surprised too!
They did that with Season 4 of Velvet whereby they jumped ahead 5 years and it was a disaster. At least this was only 7 months. Yet it left so many gaps. Ali Nejat frankly looked wasted and I don't know if that was intentional or not. Was he that miserable with Naz? I wish it all had of ben different but I guess they were in a hurry to finish the story.
Maybe Naz had contractual obligations and couldn't stay with the show. That happened with Velvet too when Miguel, the main protagonist was off doing Sense8 so he was absent for most of Season 4. Really hurt the integrity of the show to start in one direction and then turn it completely around.
I love turkish dramas. I look for them wherever I can. Here's a list of the ones I've seen so far: Karaday, Love and Punishment, 1001 Nights, Lovebird, Kurt Seyit and Sura, and the Girl I loved. Not only are the protagonists strikingly handsome, but the stories are riveting. Many I have watched 2 or even 3 times because they are so compelling. Maybe I'll come back to Intersection but the direction it's going is going to take a huge leap of faith.
I am not sold on Eylul and that's a problem for me. Kurt Seyit and Sura was the first series I watched after Velvet and immediately fell in love with it.
I have watched it a trillion times (slight exaggeration, LOL but almost true!! It's a true story although the story as opposed to the series is not a happy one for any of the protagonists. There was another blog I belonged to and as the truth became more evident, I was inclined to like the series better than reading the book for many reasons.
I am one of the few who didn't like Sura, but really liked Murvet, thought their relationship was more authentic. Sura, in my opinion, was spoiled, too insecure and never trusted Seyit even though he pledged his love for her over and over again. Her constant whining drove me crazy!! Anyways, in the book apparently she also cheated on Seyit as payback for his cheating on her.
Their relationship wasn't a healthy one after they moved to Istanbul. I think what they had was passion but no stability. Anyway, I did enjoy watching Murvet and Seyit together but in real life she didn't fare that well with Seyit either. I think in real life he was a troubled man. The person who wrote the book was Murvet's daughter or granddaughter, I forget now. Many thought Seyit committed suicide in 1943 because of Sura but in the book it was because he had lung cancer, became very sick.
Apparently when he died she visited his grave according to the grandaughter of Murvet and Seyit who wrote the book. Sura had married an American and was in the US when Seyit died. Don't quote me on this, as it's been awhile since I visited the blog. I hope you enjoy the book. There are 3 in total.
Yes, I was surprised too when I started watching Lovebird that the person who played Murvet and Lovebird were the same. Thanks for all the info about Seyit and Sura. It was truly heartbreaking. I'm wathcing Karaday now and fell in love with the character of Mahir. The relationship between him and the Judge Ferede who also played Sehrazat in 1001 Nights is developing. Why do you think we see so many of the same actors and actresses? Do they have fewer to choose from?
Not that I mind because I loved Sehrazat in 1001 Nights and now in Karaday. She is such a classic beauty! Forgive me I am not at the stage yet whereby I know these actors by their real names. 'Feride' and her husband, who plays the lead also in Magnificent Century and 1001 Nights are awarding winning actors, especially 'Feride'. They both play in a new turkish series I've seen advertised but it probably won't appear on Netflix for some time if it ever does. Coincidentally they are also both very talented musically.
'Mahir' is also a huge star in turkish TV. We'll see more of him as well as he is also featured in a new TV series that they are filming now. Looks quite appealing as well.
I'm new to turkish dramas but as I've become acquainted with them I see actors that appeared in others. For instance, when you get to 'Love and Punishment' the matriarch is featured in many films. In 'The Girl I loved' the man who plays the father is the same 'father' to Mahir.
I believe as turkish dramas become more popular and they have worldwide, we'll be seeing them and hearing about them a lot more. I wish Netflix would provide me with more!! They keep sending me these 'bollywood' types as substitutes when all I crave is more turkish dramas!! Dorothy, we could be bffs. I got hooked on turkish dramas after Velvet.which I got hooked on after Gran Hotel which I got hooked on after downtown Abbey. My first obsession was kurt seyit be sura. I was so sad when it ended I moved to Ezel.then The End.
Then Intersection. Just finished Intersection today and hated the ending. Am hoping for another season so once again at the mercy of Netflix. Can't wait Sedece Sen without crying.lol. I loved geico and visit Nd wish they had their own show.lol! Intersection had too many loose ends. Dorothy, which one should I watch next on Netflix?
Domestic Goddess, we certainly could be Bffs as that is exactly how I got hooked!! Also my love of turkish culture. Recently, I have had to resort to You tube to watch Turkish dramas while I wait for Netflix to upload more. Although at times not very reliable, I am currently watching a turkish TV show which so far is quite good called Kara Para Ask. It has english subtitles, also not the best but doable. So far I've been able to get most of the episodes.
There are more grittier turkish shows out there but I must admit I'm drawn to the more romantic ones. Velvet definitely brought out my more romantic side. 'Cable Girls' was supposed to be the next best TV show to watch but I couldn't get into it. There is currently a new spinoff of Velvet in the works. MAZ won't be in it but some of the favorites will be there. It centers more around Clara. I will look up those you have suggested.
Keep the suggestions coming!!! Cheers everyone!! I felt like many people here after Naz was killed, the plot kind of died a bit.I would like to see what happened to Murat in the end they should explain what his motives were. From the beginning, he was out to get Mr Tarick why?I don't think Murat got enough justice done, sorry to say, not after all those evil crimes he committed. How did Tarick get away? What was in the doctors report in season 3?Did Enver get his unknown daughters letter? What was his reaction? How did Umut react to Gocke's baby?So many questions unanswered at the end.I think there should be a season 4 to wrap it up. A huge question I have if Tarick isn't the father of Ali Nejat and Feyza, than who is? Murat's motive was driven in part by the fact that Tarick in one of his shadier deals caused Murat's father to take his life. The doctor's report I would say would contain the information that Tarick had himself medicated so he would look paralyzed which we now know he wasn't.
That's was so he could continue with his reign of terror when needed. He wasn't alone in doing this because his nurse and this 'other' guy that was in the room with him were helping him. They had a plan. What that was no one knows! Maybe it was to destroy Murat since Murat was the one that stole Ali Nejat's stocks, and planned with Enver the takeover of the deal Tarick had planned with Murat.
I think if the series continues into season 4, or just continues with the rest of season 3, we will find the lawyer that got Ali Nejat out of jail becoming more involved as a detective working closly with Ali Nejat on finding those answers to your questions. I found it interesting how skillful she was and the resources she had to assist her. Maybe this whole affair with Eylul won't last because he'll be drawn to the lawyer. Just saying, maybe hoping!! I think Tarick will coerce Murat to team up to go after Enver. Murat will play it safe until he finds a way to get back at Tarick. What I come to find in these Turkish dramas when they make a villian, they make him deliciously nasty!!
I mean nail bitingly nasty. And he get's away with it everytime because he's that cunning. Tarick maybe one of those villians!
In this series they seem to have plenty! I've wondered a time or two about Feysa and just recently when she wanted custody of Kaan so bad.
How low would she go to achieve that end? So i had already searched the internet for the ending once I got to the end of season 2 on netflix.
I was desperate to see the ending though i couldnt understand it seeing NAZ on the floor.i went to work telling everyone forget this show cause they killed off the good girl.then Netflix sent me notification they translated to english subtitles 5 episode.i decided to relive the torcher ending I already seen about NAZ.skimmed thru a lot.you could of redeemed yourself by having him fall i love with the attorney versus 20 year old and then you make Kaan like her after he showed resistance first.you really could of redeemed yourself and let him fall for the lawyer Nishan.i give up on this show. What a disappointing ending!!! Tarik leaves the villain Murat paralyzed in a wheelchair on the helicopter roof landing pad!!!?!
And, after breaking up the relationship of Naz and Ali Nejat, the villainess Eylul has suddently almost completely replaced Naz in both Ali Nejat's and Kaan's affections.??? So many plot holes in the later episodes of this series, it lost the five star rating I gave it in the first two seasons. Maybe Belcim Bilgin quit the series and the original scriptwriters lost their enthusiasm for the energy of the story. Or maybe they quit too and were replaced by others who were not as inspired. In any case, an international series that had a brilliant beginning began to fade halfway through and nothing seemed to bring it back to life.
IIf you watch parts of Season 2 and Season 3 (up until Naz is murdered) I think you'll see that Belcim is pregnant. At least, that's what is looks like to me. It's cleverly disguised by her clothing, purse in front of tummy, camera angles, etc.
I believe (just my humble opinion) that the producers had to write her out of the script. Assuming this theory is correct, what a poor job they did of it! And Ali Najets former love? What a strange-looking person, poor actress and one that can't hold a candle to Belcim's character. She believes in his car dream (after all it was her's too) and since Ali is so self-centered, that is reason enough for him to push Naz and Kaan aside and go back to his dream.
Yes, he loves Kaan, but he loves Ali more. Terribly disappointed in all of Season 3.
Intersection does not deserve a Season 4. It's not that all dramas have to have a happy ending, but endings need to be 'tidy-ed' up and not leave the viewers with so many questions. BTW - Ibrahim is a good actor - the scenes between he and Belcim sizzled with chemistry. Still can't figure out why they never kissed. I also feel sooooo disapointed about the last season. Ali Nejat was a kind person and he was so in love with Naz that left his car dream just to be with her, also he was a lovable and caring father, After his ex girlfriend return to Istanbul he showed himself as careless, ungrateful, ambitious and selfish person. He stop caring Naz and his own son, like all of a sudden those feelings disappear abruptly.
Naz did everything for him, she divorced, fight for him, was always there for her son, quit her job just to be with him even in another country and after the ex came he didnt care nothing except him, her and the car dream. Also his outfit change like saying I dont care at all, even he was going to marry Naz maybe for Kaan's happiness, he was in another city enjoying as a vacation, like if he diddnt want to see her, He arrives from Istanbul and inmediately went to see Eylul. Also is weird, they never kissed even they were main characters, isnt it weird? I can understand that she quit the serie and that is why they have to remove the character but they should have done in a better way, when she died it feels like no one care her except Kaan and the mother, also his hospital work friends were not there to be with her. I though that maybe Ali Nejat was going to stay with the lawyer but it seems that maybe Enver starts a new relation with her. These questions are still in my mind:What happen with Oguz, the finance guy?Mert is now just an employee of Eylul?
He didnt speak a word in the last chapter when they went to dinnerWhat happen to Murat bodyguards? HIs punishment will be to be left alone at the top of a building?
So it wasnt Murat who really killed Emre? Why Feyza accepted to marry him after Ali Nejat told her he was planning to destroy him? Why she didnt accept Enver after all? What will happen to Enver and the daughter? Will Gokce accept Genco propsal for the baby? Will Umut accept Gokce`s baby and her arranged wedding? One minute Kaan said he didnt like Eylul and later he was so nice to her, how he change so fast? And for Tarik, he will escape as suddenly? He should have been caught for everything he did, specially all the deaths he caused. It's interesting all the comments because according to turkish reviews Intersection was supposed to be a game changer for turkish dramas, with high hopes for 'international success'. What a shame!!! If they had hoped for more they certainly sabotaged any hopes of that now!!Apparently we pretty much agree the only suitable direction this series has to go is if they develop a better love interest for Ali Nejat than Eylul.
We all seem in agreement that Eylul just isn't the person for Ali no matter how much alike you try to make her to Ali. Way too contrived!! And maybe that's the point! If they were to redeem themselves they need to find a more fitting person than Eylul, like the lawyer. I remember in a scene her holding a picture of a man with a boy hoisted on his shoulders. I suspect her story will be that she lost her son and husband to an accident and somehow that draws her closer to Ali Nejat. I still have high hopes they will come together in the end even though as someone said they seem to be aligning her with Enver.
However, as handsome as he is, I still prefer, reason will prevail, and she'll end up with Ali Nejat. Thank you very much for all your info.
I have been noting all the series you've mentioned. Cannot wait to watch. I loved sura but alsoMurvet. Seyit was lucky to be loved by such 2 women.
Enjoying the book atm. I never knew Turkish drama was sooo good. Re intersection, desperate for more. I am hoping the lawyer ends up with Ali or enver. I like enver more than Ali anyway as we got to know him. I like the lawyer as she reminds me of naz, has depth, intelligence and compassion. Eylul, privileged, boring, no depth and not interested in anything other than Ali.
Just rich and all because her brother is the money maker. Enver has compassion, eylul has No job and seems selfish waste of space. Interested in more episodes though.
How does the new mother and kids fight the old man to get their company back etc. I hope the writers work more on this series. Jayanti, I agree with many of your comments. If Intersection was lacking a reliable story line the acting was top notch. I was disappointed in only one and that was Ali Nejat. Maybe he was supposed to play a reserved soft spoken gut less character, shallow and spineless. If so he mastered it!!
However, the best performance was Kaan's. What an astounding actor!! Precocious at times, but very insightful for his age. Although as much as we complain about Intersection, if they wanted to leave a cliff hanger for the next season, if there is indeed one and it wasn't surreptitiously cancelled for some reason, it did indeed to that!! Odd however, as one thing I noticed about Turkish shows they have had up to 100 episodes in a season!! That's why I am convinced there must be more to come.
I guess time will tell. I keep wracking my brain to discover why I was so invested in this series and how traumatic it was for me to see the turnaround in season 3. I fell in love with the Naz/Ali Nejat story and was crushed to see it all go up in smoke. But on a deeper level, if a 71-yr-old, highly-educated woman can be so smitten by TV drama, then the Turks are doing something right! Unlike a previous comment, I actually thought Ibrahim did a superb job as Ali Nejat. His taciturn personality and remoteness came about through his horrific 'accident', changing him from a rich, spoiled, thrill-seeking boy into a moody, guilt-driven adult who could not imagine loving anyone again.
Enter the lovely, smart, warm, Naz - who reverses his heart almost instantly. Here's where it gets interesting: once he finds this woman, it doesn't seem to matter whether or not she's already married. He likes her, he sets out to get her.
A 'gentleman' would not be so bold, but Ali Najet becomes, for a while, the old Ali Naget doing whatever it takes to get what he wants. His actions and Umet's bad behavior (psychopathic) are too much for Naz. Ali wears her down, and Umet wears her out!I could go on and on. I'll spare the reader.
What I can't wrap my head around is how involved I was with the series.how I thought about it day and night, how I wanted so much for this relationship to work and how utterly crushed I was when the writers, for whatever reason, screwed it up. I wonder if they have any idea how disappointed their audience is? It took all my brain power to keep reminding myself that this was a TV show - a soap actually - and NOT real life. Well said my dear! I have also immersed myself so deeply into these turkish dramas that I've forgotten they are made for TV and not 'real'.
Perhaps that is the genius of this genre. There is a certain human aspect to not only the lovers, but to the villains as well. Some villains are deeply troubled people but some have a very disturbing past of bad behavior. Umet was an example of that. He wasn't a bad person per se, but he was a thug of sorts. Took matters into his own hands. Too prideful which often got him into trouble, big trouble!
Intertwined with the turkish culture, which on many levels is respectful, can be deeply traditional, we are invited to explore with the story itself, the conflicts of a traditional past with modern times. Intersection didn't have the cultural perspective as much as some others I've seen. Love and Punishment explored that better as did Love is in the Air, Karaday and the Girl I loved both more modern depictions of turkish life but with strong ties to the traditional way of respecting family and religion. Perhaps that's what moves me most about them. Overall I find the stories compellingly written.
It's neither easy for the lovers nor the villains although we are often left feeling the latter are winning all the time. I belive that for some reason the actress Naz had to leave the show, and this is the end result, sadly. To think otherwise, then the writers either really screwed up or something bigger and better is on the way. Thank God for blogs like this whereby we can vent our frustrations!! Maybe they are reading our posts!!
In all of the Turkish dramas I've seen (including most of which you listed) it is clear that the patriarch has reign over the family. Honor' becomes the buzzword of the 'Baba' and the wife and children are supplicants in that culture. But just look at the consequences - somethings the writers build their storylines around repeatedly. Apparently this tradition still exists or the writers wouldn't keep using the theme over and over on which to base their stories. It still resonates.A psychologist would have a field day examining just what is happening with we suckerd-in souls who are having trouble separating fiction from reality. On closer examination, at least in my case, it's simply a matter of an aging woman who is significantly less attractive, no longer in that euphoric stage of new love (though happily married), and seeing much fewer days ahead than behind.
I credit the acting of our lead romantic pair for drawing me in to their relationship as though it were ME experiencing all the chemistry, pain and anticipation they so expertly convey. It's embarrassing, but there you have it!Likewise, the villains. As you wrote, their stories are just as compelling. But as Naz said to Ali Nejat, 'let the authorities handle it!' When he expressed such anger. I think her sane solution for AL's revenge made him even angrier and was just one of the reasons he wanted to ditch her. She couldn't truly understand his crazy family history (and clearly didn't want to) like weird-eyed old girlfriend.
Ali and Eylul shared an unbreakable bond - guilt. Thank you Karen & Dorothy! I honestly wondered if I was losing my mind!
I was completely obsessed with this series to the exclusion of almost all else. I am not much of a television watcher and have never watched morning television but I would watch Intersection from the time I woke up through getting ready for work right up until I had to leave the house.
It bookended my days for weeks, I would watch it at night until my eyes almost bled, surviving on minimal sleep, you get the picture? Before I had finished watching Season 2, I learned by accident that Naz was killed off. I felt so hurt and betrayed that I didn’t watch another episode but searched the net for information which is where I found this site. I kept telling myself “this is a TV show, get a grip!” and yet I went through a kind of grief over the loss of not just Naz, but the relationship between her, Ali Nejat & Kaan. I kept remembering the scene in the hospital after Naz’s miscarriage when Ali Nejat said “I will always be by your side, no matter what”.
He was so tender and loving and kind, it just was not feasible that he would take up with that awful ex girlfriend of his. The only solution is to do what they did in the American show Dallas in the 1980’s, bring Naz back by making all of Season 3 a dream that Ali Nejat had. BTW, Sadece Sen is one of my favourite movies of all time, Ibrahim Celikkol’s performance is an absolute tour de force and Belcim Bilgin is captivating. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and experiences, I feel better now. Just finished watching the series last night, and I'm also soooo confused about the finale,I think they will be more episodes since the word 'the end' wasn't written, I'm I the only one that thinks that the reason Ali Nejat fell for Naz was to make Karan happy? After all Ali and His ex girlfriend had a very painful experience together and maybe their bond was stronger,I found Eylul face very interesting, really exotic, but for modeling not for acting, anyway Seyit and Sura are my all time favorite, also a sad ending. I think and hope there's future season for this show as it just started last year. I'm not disappointed that NAZ got killed off, she was starting to get annoying convincing ALI NEJAT to leave everything behind, run away and hide from everything and everybody instead of facing and solving the problem and also making the poor guy choose between her and his dream.WTH!!
If that's not called being selfish then I don't know what is. A good partner for life should be understanding and supportive in everything you do and dream of no matter what.
Eylul (Ali's First True Love) is and should always be Ali's partner for life because they have a true bond and they share, understand and value the same passion and dream. NAZ was just an Infatuation to Ali Nejat. EYLUL is Ali Nejat's LOVE wether you guys want to accept it or not. I like Eylul's character, but the actress' face plays tricks with my brain and eyes though, when I first saw her I swear I thought she was a dude or a chick who got too carried away with cheeks and lip Botox or implants. There are some shots/angles that she looks hot in but still, man they could've done better picking a better looking Eylul to play the character so my brain doesn't get too overworked watching, reading subtitles, listening to foreign language then trying to figure if I'm watching a chick with masculine face or a dude with feminine face.
This makes my brain hurt. Also for those of you complaining about the number of episodes per season, you guys realize each episode of this show is over 2 hours long! Most shows here in U.S. Lasts 1 hour per episode and half hour of that 1 hour is made of commercials so be grateful that this show was created with less episodes but longer with no interruptions.:-). Wow, am I glad I chanced upon this discussion. I too binged on Intersection and absolutely loved it, until the totally messed up third season. The plot completely deteriorated.
I think Ibrahim C also was quite busy, notice how he's wearing the same clothes over days in prison. So obviously it was all shot at one time. ALso, in the beginning he is bronzed like he'd spent lots of sporty time on the beach, but later he's not so suntanned.Losing Naz was a shame. But I agree, Eylul is too much like him to be his partner. Many of you have pointed to the inconsistencies and unanswered questions, which makes me think there'll be more.
But the writing has to be good.Turkish films and tv shows are great, and I enjoy them, even if the subtitles sometimes are odd. That happens in India too, sometimes making things sound ridiculous!I love the way the subplots worked in Intersection, and in other serials too. In fact, I thought that since Naz was killed off, the subplots would take off, but the writers seemed to have been in a hurry to end the season. That's a real shame. I stayed up nights watching the show, and never felt tired working all day the following day! I've enjoyed reading all of the comments on this thread as you mirrored so many of my own frustrations with the writers. I admired Ali as a man who turned the other cheek and showed love to his over-reactive sister and father, even when they had no respect for him or his knowledge and opinions.
When the old girlfriend showed up, his character changed for the worse.did he snap? What happened to the chemistry between him and Naz?
I've been trying to figure out Turkish dramas: is a happy ending a uniquely American desire? We adore our love stories, and we want to imagine a happily ever-after existence thank you! Please stop with the tortured love that never fulfills the hopes of your audience. You have great graphics, and lots of plots and subplots that feature unique and fascinating characters (The Girl I Loved is my favorite until NO ENDING!) but you will lose the American audience if you can't pull your love interests together forever. We don't want to cry ourselves to sleep, or be so disappointed we warn others not to watch and never tune in to Turkish dramas again. Maybe it works in other cultures.can someone enlighten me? Is this part of their national cultural expectations?
One more compliment.your scenery is luscious and the taste in clothing is generally enjoyable in every Turkish drama that I've seen. Loved the glass house and office spaces in Intersection and the settings in the Girl I Loved. There seemed to be so much authenticity in Kurt Seyit and Sura.I love learning about the Turkish history and culture. I must be the only person who did not care so much for Naz. I thought she was pitiful and played Kaan because of not having a child of her own.
It showed in on clip.she was angry at Ali then a quick instant a smile that showed it was for Kaan.when she laid down. It was her way with first husband then she tried ruling Ali.and couldn't rule either one. She was wishy washy. I don't like that in a woman.
I think Kaan is a great actor but who runs every time a kid whines.goodness didn't even send him to school because he didn't like it. Ali might learn to be a father who knows? But why are we upset at the people? This is drama. These are actors. Now where is season 4 wit english subtitles?? Love the Turkish Dramas.but I am ending my 5th one on netflix with no hope of the continuing seasons.
I too am addicted to Turkish films. Just finished Intersection and am sick to my stomach. I watch the episodes for hours at a time. Never expected the ending. Too much unfinished business. It's like the writers hurried up the last season to be done with it. The last episodes were 'crammed' in.
Will they continue? Disappointed with Ali's change of feelings for Naz. He didn't give any time grieving Naz before he took up with Euyul. The candles in front of his house was a 'wow' moment for me. Very distasteful, disrespectful of Naz. What were the writers thinking?
Mary from Atlanta Ga.So disappointed with season 3!! What a mishmash of unanswered questions and trails.Even though I am upset about how intersection ended I am amazed at how enthralled I was in the characters. I loved Genco and Isot, what a laugh they gave me. I loved the brotherhood of the men and how relaxed they were with sharing their “feelings”. I never knew that a Turkish dramas were so good. I’ll be spreading the word.I’m glad it’s over though disappointed in the lack of emotion on Ali Najets part, but now I can get back to my own life and take care of my own business. I’ve invested too much time into this series, but the 1st &2nd episode were worth it ?.
Just finished Intersection. Can’t believe how I’m getting hooked on these Turkish dramas. Didn’t know it was a genre I could get into (and with subtitles) but found myself riveted by Kurt vs Sura and now I can’t seem to get enough! Disagree with most regarding Eyul.
Was really pulling for Naz and Ali but it was a painfully slow development and felt more like mutual affection and respect than passion. Enter Eylul ( exotic and stunning imo) and we clearly saw the difference between true love and passion vs respectful love. Naz never had a chance or demonstrated ability to match Eylul’s intensity!
I’m ok with those two (apparently so is Karan). Let Enver have the Lawyer - that’s a good match. I didn't see Ali Nejat as shallow.actually, even though I loved Naz, I thought she was getting kind of demanding in Season 2, especially expecting him to give up his dream because she demanded it. In the long run, no man is happy when a woman pressures him to give up his dreams.
She also got easily snappish. I still wanted them to end up together, though - and thought Season 3 was crazy.
Also.I couldn't stand Isot. And it bugged me that neither Naz nor Neslihan ever found out Umut lit Ali Nejat's building on fire.
